

Out of 64 submitted applications within the framework of the 5th call, 20 applications were selected after an external review process. This brings the total number of funded projects to more than 100 since Africa-UniNet was established in 2020.
The 20 selected projects of the fifth call comprise partnerships with institutions in 7 different countries in Africa: Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda.
The projects are financed by the BMFWF with a total funding amount of ca. 750,000 euros for a project duration of up to two years. The themes of the projects cover a variety of science sectors ranging from education sciences, social sciences, arts, to micro biology, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, environmental science, soil science, sustainable agriculture, veterinary sciences and more.
They all share a cooperative and participatory approach, as well as the objective to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The names and partner institutions of the financed projects are listed below. The projects are currently in the contracting process and will start within the next months.
