The Austrian-African Research Network Africa-UniNet was initiated to create a long-term, stable basis for cooperation between Austrian and African universities and research institutions. It intends to promote new contacts, deepen scientific cooperation and provide excellent opportunities for innovative joint research projects.

The 5th Africa-UniNet Call is open until 28 February 2025. The 4th General Assembly is scheduled to be held in 2025.

Supporting African Science and Tertiary Education (SASTE) Grant - 3. Call open until November 2024

The SASTE grant supports post-docs from Sub Sahara Africa working in the field of Agriculture, Forestry, Water Management, Renewable Energies, Nutritional Science, Human and Veterinary Medicine for a research stay in Austria. In case of strong involvement of Technical Sciences and IT in research projects of the mentioned fields, these areas of research are also eligible for application.
